Functions
of the Crop Protection and Plant Quarantine Division.
1. To protect the national agriculture sector from infestation and dispersion of pests, through advisory services, expertise and crop protection programmes within the crop protection and plant quarantine fields. 2. To uphold agriculture security and protect the country against quarantine pests through the enforcement of the Plant Quarantine Act 1976 and Plant Quarantine Regulation 1981 together with the enforcement of Custom Orders and CITES in order to protect national interests so that planting materials and germplasms of high genetic and commercial value do not exit the country. |
